Diabetes mellitus type 2 in children
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is emerging as a new clinical problem among children around the world in all ethnicities, with the increase in prevalence of obesity.
Current treatment available is Metformin or Basal insulin which has side effects like renal dysfunction and hypoglycemia respectively. This emphasize on the need for newer molecules with more benefits and lesser side effects to be developed.
The principal therapeutic potential of the investigational product is to lower blood glucose in children with DM type II not adequately controlled with conventional treatment without causing hypoglycemia and also helping in weight loss
This is a Phase 1, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose-escalation clinical study
Duration : 45 days
Boys and girls between 10 and 17 years of age
Diabetes Mellitus Type 2
